[SMM Coal and Coke Shipping] SMM China's Total Coal Port Arrivals at 7.757 Million mt, Down 10% MoM

[SMM Coal and Coke Shipping] The total volume of coal arrivals at Chinese ports tracked by SMM was 7.757 million mt, down 10% MoM. Among them, the total arrivals at 11 main ports were 3.462 million mt, down 20% MoM. The total arrivals at Guangzhou Port were 892,000 mt, accounting for 12% of the total arrivals, down 14% MoM.

The total port arrivals of coal in China, according to SMM, were 7.757 million mt, down 10% MoM. Among them, the total port arrivals at 11 main ports were 3.462 million mt, down 20% MoM, while the total port arrivals at Guangzhou Port were 892,000 mt, accounting for 12% of the total port arrivals, down 14% MoM.

Coupled with the China Mineral Resources talks, the raw materials side rebounded from lows. In the second half of the week, as rumors of maintenance at steel mills across various regions emerged, negative feedback expectations intensified somewhat, and raw materials pulled back. Approaching the weekend, however, the 10th round of coke price increases was initiated, pushing coking coal and coke futures higher. In the spot market, the off-season characteristics of end-users became increasingly evident, with the market restocking at low prices as needed.
